Where I serve

I am currently in year three with FOCUS, serving at the Headquarters in Genesee, Colorado. For the last two years, I served at the University of Northern Colorado and now, I get to help send missionaries themselves out to campus through my work in Gift Ops. On campus, you would've found me playing grass volleyball and frisbee with anyone and everyone. And now, at the office, you will find me with a soccer ball in my car, ready to play in the parking lot. I get to live the same prayer life and same mission as I did on campus (Acts 2:42), yet now, on a different team, and in different scenery (the beautiful mountains of Colorado). And I LOVE IT.

My Story

My greatest desire is to make Christ known to others, by sharing the Gospel, and sharing my testimony with others. I have found so much freedom in just telling students that I was once broken, wounded, and so sinful, but Jesus found me, told me there was more to life than my pleasures, and he told me where to go next. He said, "Just give me a chance, and I will give you eternal life." (Now that was a good deal...). I met a missionary who  pointed me right to Him, with scripture and with her own testimony and prayer life.

Jesus doesn't want us to settle for a mediocre life that just pays the bills. He actually gave us gifts and talents that draw ourselves and others closer to His Father. Why wouldn't we utilize them?

And if Jesus had a "love language" it would be through surprises-the good ones and the "blessings in disguise" as some call it-he allows us to suffer and be hurt by others, because he sees it as an opportunity to remind us that he can bring good out of literally ANY depth of darkness.

I pray that every young woman I meet will find out from my tesstimony (see what I did there?), that God wants abundant life for them, not a life of sitting in front of Netflix but sitting in front of Jesus; not a life of scrolling Instagram, but a life scrolling through the stories of Jesus, Mary, and the disciples in the Gospels-plus the lives of the Christians who lived before us (a.k.a. saints).

Your Impact

Let's be honest, college students can't afford retreats and mission trips. But they COULD afford it if you give. And I too, can only afford it if you give. Jesus needed housing and had expenses. He lived 100% off of the generosity of others and in return, those who gave to him and followed Him received eternal life in Heaven. This isn't a "nice gesture" that I am asking of you. It's just God asking how you want to play a role in building up His kingdom. (And hey, if it isn't this, don't feel guilty: it is definitely something else!).

I promise, that if you join me, your life and your family's life will transform-not because of me, but because of God, who gives back 100 fold, when we give Him anything to build His Kingdom.
