Though natives of the east coast, we live in Denver, CO. Niru serves a the Director of FOCUS Retreats. Our team will help bring life-changing retreats to people at FOCUS’ 200+ locations. Sarah serves as a Formation Specialist, helping to bring effective teaching principles into instruction of FOCUS’ missionaries. Through our careers and family we are so grateful for the incredible apostolate that the Lord has entrusted to us.

Niru: In 2008, my life was transformed by Jesus when I converted to the Catholic faith from atheism. While involved in campus ministry at the University of Virginia, I learned to live as a Catholic and wanted nothing more than to share the faith with other college students. After college, I served as a FOCUS Missionary at Columbia University. It was here that I met my now wife who was also a missionary. I became a regional director and after three years in that role, Sarah I discerned to get married and leave FOCUS. In 2019, we moved to Virginia where I worked for the Diocese of Arlington. The desire to make disciples of all nations was a constant call, and in 2022 it took the form of asking my wife and I to move to Denver to aid in the work of spiritual multiplication! I am so excited to be back in the mission of FOCUS and to help others encounter the Lord through retreats!

Sarah:  I grew up Catholic, but it was not until college that I realized Jesus wanted a personal relationship with me. Once I said yes to giving my life to Him, everything changed! I found peace and joy I never knew was possible, and have since committed my life to sharing His love with others. After getting my degree in English Education, God called me to join staff with FOCUS. I served at Columbia University where I met my now husband, and later went on to serve at the University of Pennsylvania. My yes to Jesus led me to say yes to my husband’s proposal in 2019, which led to another yes to leave FOCUS and move to VA. In VA Jesus reawakened my call to lead others to Him through teaching literature.  In 2022 Jesus invited us to rely on Him even more when He invited Niru and I to return to FOCUS. Now, as a member of the Formation team, I am able to marry my passion for education with my passion for evangelization. I feel incredibly blessed to live out our call to make disciples both through our work with FOCUS, and in our vocation.

When we answered the call for to join FOCUS and our family to move to Denver, we made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help us through this mission. We’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with us as we served on campus and beyond.
