Jesus has called me to a new role to serve on the Freedom Project Team with FOCUS at Doane University! I am extremely excited to be able to serve in this new way to have a greater impact on the church as a whole!

For the first year and a half of my college career I was doing all the things a normal college student does, go to class, football games, parties, and just hang out with friends and do homework. Halfway through my sophomore year at Grand Valley State University I decided to go to a daily mass at our local university parish and it forever changed my life. I was feeling unfulfilled and chose to go to that daily mass to do something different, and that is where I met two FOCUS missionaries and two soon to be FOCUS missionaries. They seemed so happy and immediately invited me to join their men s group called Warriors. I soon became very involved in FOCUS Bible studies and our campus Catholic club. I was taught what it meant to truly be Catholic and what that meant for a man in the world that we live in today.

I first felt called to full time mission during adoration in Phoenix, AZ during FOCUS SLS conference in 2019. I was on fire for mission but had no idea how to do it. Our FOCUS missionary Colby took me under his wing and began to invest in me deeply and showed me more and more what it meant to be a Catholic man. At the beginning of my senior year I was leading a bible study, the men s group that I had joined sophomore year, and investing in a few younger men on campus when Grand Valley s team director told me that she wanted me to apply to be a FOCUS missionary. I prayed about it a lot and the thing that kept coming up was that the Lord needed men on college campuses to know Him and He wanted me to be part of it. I applied and the rest is history, and I couldn’t be happier or more fulfilled to be doing the work the Lord has called me to.

The call to fulltime mission with FOCUS means that I had made the decision to be supported financially and spiritually through mission partners. The work I do could not be done without the support of my mission partners and I have been blessed to be able to know them and be on this mission with them. The journey of mission is always bringing new great things.
